Types control boards
Bitmain uses different types of control boards in its miners, differing in architecture, appearance, and compatibility with specific models. Below is a brief overview of the board differences:
Xilinx Processor-based Control Board (Xil)
Commonly used in miners: S19, S19 Pro, T19.
- Front-panel SD card slot
- Processor labeled "Xilinx"

Amlogic Processor-based Control Board (Aml)
Commonly used in miners: S19, S19Kpro, S19j, S19j Pro, S19j Pro+, S19 XP, S21, T21.
- Front-panel Micro-USB port
- Processor labeled "Amlogic"

CVITEK Processor-based Control Board (CV)
Commonly used in miners: S19, S19Kpro, T21.
- Front-panel SD card slot
- Processor labeled "CVITEK"

BeagleBone Control Board (BB)
Commonly used in miners: S19j, S19j Pro.
- Board consists of two stacked components
- SD card slot located internally on control board
- Device disassembly required to access SD slot

Control boards are often interchangeable. You can replace a CV board with an AML board - simply install firmware compatible with the miner model and matching the new control board's architecture.
