Temperature control
The cooling section in VNISH helps monitor the miner's temperature and control its fans. This is essential for the stable operation of the ASIC device, as overheating chips can lead to reduced performance, errors, or automatic shutdown of mining to protect the hardware.
More details
The firmware allows you to monitor the cooling system, view fan speeds, their current load, and operating status. This allows you to quickly spot cooling issues and customize the miner's operation.
Chip and Hashboard Temperature Monitoring
VNISH displays chip temperatures and helps maintain a preset temperature. The user can specify a target temperature, and the system will automatically adjust cooling to keep the miner within a safe operating range.
This monitoring is especially important under increased load, using performance profiles, or operating the equipment in rooms with unstable temperatures. If the temperature begins to rise, the firmware can change the operating mode to reduce the risk of overheating.
Fan Speed Control.
Vnish offers several fan control modes. In automatic mode, the firmware automatically adjusts fan speed based on chip temperature. This is the most convenient and safe option for most users.
A manual mode is also available, where fan speed is set to a fixed percentage. A separate mode can be used for immersion cooling, in which the fans are disabled and temperature control is based on liquid temperature.
The firmware also allows you to set the minimum number of fans and limit their speed range. This helps adapt the cooling system to the specific miner configuration.
Automatic Profile Reduction.
VNISH Firmware can automatically change the miner's operating profile based on chip temperature, power consumption, and device stability. If the temperature becomes too high, the system can lower the profile to reduce the load on the hardware.
This helps maintain stable miner operation without constant manual monitoring. The user can set the temperature at which the profile will be reduced, as well as a minimum profile below which the system will not drop.
Overheat Protection.
The cooling system in VNISH helps protect the ASIC miner from overheating and related problems. Incorrect fan operation, a lack of RPM, or an error status may indicate that the cooling system is not functioning properly.
When overheating, the miner can reduce performance, switch to a safer profile, or stop mining to protect the hardware. This approach helps reduce the risk of chip damage and maintain stable operation of the ASIC miner over a long period of time.
